A Hummingbird's Flight

A Hummingbird's Flight
By Rosemary Cadena Najar

Fly little hummingbird
say goodbye to her caress
memories of mama
and the comfort of the nest

Fly little hummingbird
linger on new wings
rock in gentle breezes
lavish promises of spring

Fly little hummingbird
catch the morning rays
glisten young feathers
braving summer's days

Fly little hummingbird
let each rhythmic beat
define a spirit eager
for autumns meadows sweet

Fly little hummingbird
dream the sacred story
drink in winter's nectar
dance in the scent of her glory
